A private moment after the ceremony

Making time for photos of just the two of you after all of the chaos that goes along a wedding day is important, I know your family and friends are begging to get a picture of you with them and the stresses of wanting to please everyone during your wedding day is pretty high. I know, I get it, been there 🙂 Whether these be taken before the ceremony or after, it is just nice to have that extra allotted time just for you two.

Here let me explain… Lets say you choose to see each other before the wedding and you would like to get all of the family formals and wedding party shots before the ceremony as well, typically family formals take about 30 minutes to photograph and wedding party (if in the same location as the ceremony) take about 20 minutes. Ideally it would be lovely to also have at least a half hour (crossing my fingers for more) to photograph you as a couple. Then lets say your ceremony starts at 4pm and you move onto cocktail hour and then your reception, first dance and so on… I notice that the light is gorgeous and you two seem to have a bit of a break, I will then try and sneak you away to have a private moment alone during this gorgeous light. Now Im not saying its just for photos sake, but also for the calmness that has come over you both after a “feeeew we did it and now we are married” moment, and be able to really soak that in for some gorgeous photographs. Now I’m not saying this time hasto be a long time, but truly even 10 minutes of uninterrupted “you as a couple” time would be ideal and really another excuse to smooch that new wife or husband of yours!

You hired your Photographer to capture your day in its entirety, well you and your new spouse are part of that and the day is all about celebrating you. Enjoy it and soak in those moments as best as you can.
