This family in a nutshell is….. Such a blast! Absolutely love their personalities and sense of humor! You may recognize Amy, but for those who do not, she is the owner of Blush Bridal Consulting and all in all a fabulous lady! When I first met Amy a couple of years ago, we instantly just clicked and I think laughed our butts off the entire time we were sipping our coffee! When she contacted me for this session, I couldn’t wait because rumor has it they were a fun bunch! well I do confirm they are! We took a stroll over to Luscher Farms in Lake Oswego and it was a perfect day, since we had rain for several weeks in a row before that. We combined their family portraits with one-year old portraits as well as some new headshots for Amy, feeeew I think we covered it! here are some of my faves from their shoot.

It is always SUCH a privilege to photograph a couple’s love story and an even bigger privilege to photograph their children! Discovery Park Editorial for Tessa Kim’s Intimates Line

Photographing Fashion is something I love doing for many different reasons than I love photographing love stories. When it comes to weddings, everything is pretty much all planned out for you vs. these kinds of shoots are a creative outlet for me. When Tessa Kim commissioned me to Photograph her new intimates line in Seattle I couldn’t be more excited. I love working with her, not only is she a lovely friend but she is SUPER talented! Tessa kinda just lets me go with wherever my mind takes me and styling is such a blast! I was honored to work with yet another amazing team of people on this shoot and they all made it even easier with all the laughter and fun we were having!

There are so many pieces from this line that would be amazing gifts for your bridesmaids or for the bridal night!

Although I would LOVE to share this entire shoot with you, there was too many faves and it was truly hard to narrow it down, so I would like to introduce the gorgeous 2013 Intimates Line for Tessa Kim and a few pieces from her 2014 line that will be available next year (oh yes there will be more where that came from then!)

Seattle Maternity Portraits | Tessa & Choon

I had the honor of heading up to Seattle to Photograph some truly amazing people, one of them being this very talented and lovely lady and now friends Tessa Kim and her husband Choon. They are expecting their first child and had just moved to Seattle from LA.What better city to raise your child in then Seattle and they absolutely love it there! I absolutely love photographing this time in a couples lives because of the love and anticipation they have really reflects in their photos. If you are unaware of this momma-to-be, well let me know introduce you, she is a talented bridal accessory & veil designer as well as just launching her new line of intimates apparel (oh wait for that one, I also shot that while I was up there). You can see her work and buy all sorts of goodies HERE! She is also wearing one of her hand-made pieces in these photos, and it is lovely!

Engagement Photography George Rogers Park | Trish & Ryan

These two are some of the sweetest people I have ever met, their gentle nature is shown as Ryan softly touches the small of her back and the how Trish holds on to his upper arms as they hold eachother. Its quit endearing to watch them as they walk, talk and share those hugs. We thought George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego would be a great spot for them to walk alongside the rocky beach and simply just be together. What better excuse to just hold one another is this, right?! Im really looking forward to watching their wedding day unfold as they become husband and wife in September!

Capturing the necessary vs. pure moments

I once was a new wedding photographer too, and I know we all have to start somewhere but if I were to go back in time in the beginning and really be able to watch how I photographed weddings, I would realize I was missing what was the most important about capturing weddings… those moments. I was so wrapped up in getting that list of shots (come on you know what I’m talking about!) that I almost forgot to get some beautiful imagery for my couple. If you must know, these lists are still out there for brides to tell their photographers they must have, go HERE for example. Now I get it, I do, coming from a bride once myself, I thought I needed to do everyones job for them by making sure these lists of things were fulfilled. Don’t get me wrong, there are some things that aren’t on those lists that you would like to make sure your wedding photographer knows about. This is where hiring the right photographer for you is so important and one who is experienced and doesn’t need you to hold their hands throughout the day. It is the photographer’s job to make sure that “list” of shots is fulfilled along with the gorgeous imagery solely of the moments you miss and can’t believe your eyes when you see the shots. It is our job as Wedding professionals to ask you about any special attributes throughout your day that we need to know about, so that we make sure its captured. If you trust your wedding photographer ( which I hope you do, since you hired them) then you should know that your day will be captured as if you could relive it all over again.

Photographers; be watchful of anything and everything that happens during the day, have a second photographer there to make sure you have coverage so that you can make sure you watch for these moments and capture them. Get to know your clients unique story, get to know them so that you are able to photograph this day JUST for them.

I wanted to share a favorite moment I captured last year for Katie & Brian, I remember this exact moment, they had just been announced husband and wife for the first time and walked down the aisle past their friends and family, as they got past everyone, they sort of skipped out toward the vineyard, Brian holding her hand, smiling and so happy and ready for their moment alone. Katie did sort of a “YES!” holding her bouquet in the air and Brian looked up with a smile on his face as if he was thanking god for sending him his wife. Then Brian stopped her in the midst of walking out to the vineyard and pulled her in close and kissed her. My goal was to not be intrusive so I followed from a distance and it was truly beautiful.

I have probably said this many times before, but I have truly been blessed with some of the most amazing couples who I can now call my friends and couldn’t ask for a better job. Having the Privilege to photograph so many unique stories and gorgeous weddings has been one of the highlights of my career!

Oh me oh my this was a fantabulous session! not only did a dear friend ask me to Photograph her Maternity photos but they asked me to be a part of something so beautiful in their lives and I was truly honored to do that! First of all Melissa Tomeoni is a wonderful Photographer and I LOVE photographing other photographers because…well… just cuz they rock! not only did I get to Photograph a Photographer, I also had a new pal/photographer with me as well named Paige who brought a different fabulous flare with her, she’s so great and please check out hers HERE
