MARGARITA MONDAY | BRIDAL TEA

Feeeeeeeeeeeeew I’m back, I cannot believe how busy it has been and I hate to say it but my blog has been neglected because of it. The last few weeks have been crazy crazy and all is wonderful in my life with fabulous Wedding styled shoots (coming soon to a blog near you) and portrait sessions to remodeling our own kitchen (pics coming soon). Amidst all of that, I have also been helping my soon to be sister in law with her own wedding plans and having her bridal Tea this coming Saturday at my house. I love Bridal teas, I think they are so elegant and fun and ofcourse the Scones and delicous loose teas that come with it, who can resist!!! Which leads me to this weeks installment of Margarita Monday, I thought I would share some of the things I will be planning for the Tea and give you a little inspiration to plan one for you and the girls!

THE SCONES!!!! I have a wonderful recipe for scones which I also side it with some clotted cream and lemon curd…. um YUM! This recipe has been jumpled around a bit by me from time of trying and perfecting, so I have no website to refer you to but here 🙂

Ingredients
3 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Dash of salt
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
6 tbsp. sweet butter
1/2 c. milk

1 tbsp  of larger sugar crystals (for top)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add sugar. Cut in butter with a fork to corn-meal sized mixture. Add milk.

Roll out to one-inch thickness. Cut into 2 inch circles.

Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes until almost golden brown, then take them out and brush lightly with egg/water to give it a shine and powder sugar on top and bake for another few minutes.

DECOR!!! my daughter and I will making fun tissue paper puff balls to hang from the ceiling, they are a cinch to make, heres a video for instructions if you would like to try it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KLZ_4sXk2E

The Yummy Goodness!!! Ofcourse you need tea cups, lots of tea cups, mix and match them for a fun look, I have a ton from my dear sweet Grandma who ALWASY had tea partys and I am lucky to say she has taught me alot for throwing them.  For the favors I will be filling organza bags with Delicous Lavendar green tea and tying the tops with a personalized tag for the shower sealed with a honey stick (pic not shown), I also ordered brown sugar cubes as well as white. We will have assorted tea sandwiches and my fave if the salmon and wasabi pictured above from Projectwedding.com

Ofcourse you haveto have some other treats and trust me there is tons but I also wanted to make note of another fave of mine, the Lemon Square!! Heres a fabulous recipe from the Food network you haveto try! click HERE
