Modern Glam Multicultural Wedding at Leftbank Annex

I absolutely LOVE multicutural weddings and Vanna and Ashkan wanted to incorporate a little of both of their cultural traditions throughout. I really loved the modern simplicity of their invitation suite with black, gold and soft white which set the tone of their day. With Vanna’s greek heritage, they wanted to have their ceremony at the Greek Orthodox church in Portland, OR. The ceremony is rich with symbolism including the service of the Crowning, readings from scripture, The Common Cup and the Dance of Isaiah which celebrates their first steps as husband and wife. Some of my favorite photos were right when they exited the front doors of the church, they just looked so happy to be married!

Vanna and Ashkan had planned an outfit change for their reception truly representing their gorgeous glam decor. I had been dying to see this next dress from Pronovias on Vanna as it was the most anticipated piece for her! Ashkan also had a change into a black and white tuxedo looking very dapper and ready for the party. When you walked up to The Leftbank Annex, you were greeted by candlelight and warmth as you headed up the stairs. Once you walked in to the main ballroom area, there were gorgeous chandeliers hanging throughout, light linens and gold chivari chairs with gold rimmed chargers and beautiful floral centerpieces, all of this impeccably orchestrated by Katy with bridal Bliss.

To incorporate Ashkan’s Persian heritage, they had his cousin perform the knife dance to start off their cake cutting and then a beautiful Sofreh table surrounded by incredible Persian treats. What I loved most was the mix of Greek and Persian music being played for all to dance too, which kept everyone on the dance floor for the entire night!
